No Hitter

Vinnie Villella paid a visit this past week to The Spirit's offices to reflect on a very special day for the two of them back on June 24, 1954.

 The highlight of that season was the game at the Armory Field that night in which the two of them paired up as the pitcher-catcher battery in what Maciejewski said has been the only no-hitter in Punxsutawney American Legion baseball history. At that time, Legion games were nine innings.
