Boys cross country defeats St. Marys at home 21-36

The Punxsutawney boys cross country team competed at home on Tuesday against St. Marys, scoring a 21-36 win. Dan Lenze (20:24) and Alex Momyer (19:47) ran in Tuesday’s meet, placing seventh and eighth, respectively.

PUNXSUTAWNEY—Led by a solid 1-2 finish by Andrew Barnoff and Evan Groce, the Punxsy boys cross country team came away with a 15-point win against St. Marys yesterday on a warm, muggy afternoon at Jack LaMarca stadium.

The Chucks backed up Barnoff and Groce by taking places 5-7 against the Dutch to clinch the win.

“Andrew ran well, as expected, and Evan had his best race of the season so far to finish ahead of St. Marys’ number one runner, Wyatt Foster,” said head coach George Wehrle.
