PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Punxsutawney Chucks basketball team opened the new year with a 55-40 win over the visiting Keystone Panthers on Monday evening to move to 4-4 in the season.

“We needed this win and something to get us back on the right side,” said Punxsy Coach Jake Perrin.

He added, “It’s good to finally get a win over two or three points,” as the Chucks have had some close losses so far in the season, including a 39-37 loss to Cameron County in double overtime.
