NORTH MAHONING TWP.  — A pit bull was shot and killed Wednesday after three dogs attacked a miniature pony in Indiana County, state police said.

Troopers said two pit bulls and a Labrador retriever mix attacked the pony around 5:33 p.m. at a location in the 200 block of Yoder Road in North Mahoning Township.

The pony’s owner fatally wounded one of the pit bulls during the attack and the two other dogs ran from the scene. They were later located on Laske Road, Jefferson County, state police said.
