Family Fun Day brings big crowd to Laurel Fest

It was a fun-tastic day at the Laurel Festival’s Family Fun Day on Tuesday, with many activities on offer, including the Laurel 500, Pet Parade and the amateur hot dog eating contest. The winners of the Pet Parade are shown here with their furry and feathered friends: (from left) Lexi Shaffer with Batman (Most Well Behaved), Mitch Schilling with Oscar Delia Schilling (Most Unique), Missy Schuckers with GiGi (Smallest), Peyton Morgan with Hank (Largest) and Thomas Troutman with Aliester (Judges Choice). Stop by today for the Relay for Life Day. The opening basket raffle, survivor registration, Luminaria sales and kids games will be at 5 p.m. A recognition of survivors will take place on 6:30 p.m. The Dessert Walk will take place at 7 p.m., a scavenger hunt at 7:30 p.m., a dessert social at 8 p.m., and the last call raffle at 8:30 p.m. The Luminaria ceremony will be held at 9 p.m.
