Richard Lee Reinhart, 79

Richard Lee Reinhart, 79, Big Run, died Friday, March 2, 2012, at Christ the King Manor, DuBois, after a lengthy illness.

He was born Nov. 2, 1932, in Big Run, a son of the late Clarence Russell and Ruth Elizabeth (Weber) Reinhart.

He was married to Shirley Ann (Weisdock) Reinhart, who survives.

Mr. Reinhart graduated in 1950, a member of the last graduating class from Big Run High School.

He enjoyed sports, especially baseball, which he excelled at in his younger days. He was known for being a good baseball player and a homerun hitter. He was known in his baseball league as “Flubb.”

From 1950 to 1953, he served in the U.S. Army as a Medic overseas.

He was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church and John W. Jenks Masonic Lodge No. 534.

He worked as an electrical mechanic at Electro-Mec before retiring in 1994.

After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, gardening and golfing.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include three sons, Larry Reinhart and wife Chris and, Gary Reinhart and wife Nancy, all of Punxsutawney, and Rick Reinhart and wife Kathy of Big Run; seven grandchildren, Josh, Michael, Michele, Ian, Jesse, Hannah and Jakoby Reinhart; a brother, William Reinhart and wife Donna of Harmony; a niece, Brenda; and two sisters-in- law, Peggy Weisdock of Ohio and Dodi Weisdock of New Jersey.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.

A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2012, at the funeral home officiated by Rev. David Koehler.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Big Run.
