PAI plant manager charged with stealing more than $240,000 from company

PUNXSUTAWNEY — Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police announced on Wednesday morning the arrest of a Punxsutawney man after an investigation led them to charge the individual with various felony counts of theft, forgery and receiving stolen property.

In the affidavit of probable cause, police said that Larry Ward Depp Jr., 47, caused the company for which he worked, Production Abrasives Inc., a total monetary loss of $243,026.75 between January 2014 and December 2016 by placing orders under various company names and from stealing conditioning discs from the company.

Information obtained from the company, for which Depp was the plant manager, indicated that he was placing the orders, removing them from the company's system and unlawfully taking the finished products from the business for his own benefit.

Depp was charged with one felony-two count of theft by unlawful taking, one felony-two count of theft by deception, one felony-two count of receiving stolen property and 35 felony-three counts of forgery.
