People young and old came out in force to participate in the United Church of Christ's Pysanky event, headed up by local Pysanky enthusiast Jeanne Curtis (pictured). Pysanky eggs are traditional Ukrainian Easter eggs decorated by drawing designs in wax with a traditional kyska tool and colored using a wax-resistant method. According to Curtis, people have been decorating Pysanky eggs for 2,000 to 3,000 years. The event continues today from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
