BISHOPS TO HOST VETS & FRIENDS PICNIC

Staff Writer

With the 4th of July right around the corner, Dick Bishop and his wife, Ada, will be hosting a Vets and Friends Picnic this Saturday, July 2, beginning around noon at their flag memorial located along Altman Avenue Extension, 100 yards from Juneau Road. Bishop explained that he wanted to host the picnic as a way for vets to come together and share their stories with each other, as well as members of the community who would like to stop by and express their gratitude to the men and women veterans in attendance. Joe Snyder of K.J. BBQ is donating the food for the picnic, which will include chicken, hamburgers, hotdogs, macaroni and potato salad and baked beans. There is no cost to attend the picnic, and those wishing to attend are asked to bring a lawn chair. Pictured in front of the charcoal grill and flags for the veterans are Bishop and his wife, Ada, and members of the American Legion Seger-Baun Post 582: Bob Baker, Mike Berringer and Dick Magolis.
