Geist edged Randy Mumford by a narrow margin of 1,731 votes to 1,572 to earn the chance to represent her party on the fall ballot. On the Democratic side of the ticket, Joseph D. Ryan ran unopposed and earned 91.73 percent of the votes (1,209) to represent his party for District Attorney in the fall.In the Punxsy Area School Board races, Edward McGinnis won both the Republican and Democratic ballots to earn his spot on the sheet in November as a representative of Region II.
