PUNXSUTAWNEY — It's National Nursing Home Week, and if you're looking for a way to volunteer at a personal care facility of some type, here's one idea that may appeal to you.
Perhaps helping with the residents directly is not your thing. If that’s the case, how about being a storyteller and writer?
Jane Murphy, a volunteer reader and story writer at Mulberry Square, said the program she works with is called Timeslips and was created at the University of Milwaukee and designed by a psychiatrist who was working with dementia patients.
