Mary Ann “Baba” Pallone, 73, of Emeigh, passed away Feb. 11, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born April 28, 1940, in Spangler, the daughter of Stephen and Helen (Kutney) Bublinec.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Joseph, Stephen, Bernard and Michael Bublinec; sister Helen Salyan; and son-in-law Dr. John J. Santarelli.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Donald J. Pallone; son Donald M. Pallone, CRNP, married to Carol (Coy); daughters Diana C. Maelzer, married to Udo, Emeigh; and Stephanie Baran, RN, married to Brian, Northern Cambria; grandchildren Dr. John Ashurst (Dr. Megan Wasson Ashurst), Anthony J. Santarelli, Andrea N. Santarelli, Stephen M. Ashurst, Adam J. Ashurst and Zoey E. Baran.
She is also survived by brothers Frank Bublinec of Parma, Ohio, and Edward Bublinec of Dover, Pa.; sisters Elsie Hamady of Windber and Bernadine Valenti of Smethport; and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
She was formerly employed by The Barnesboro Star, The Patton Courier and Nathan’s Clothing Store, but her favorite job was at her husband’s business, Pallone Insurance Agency, where they worked together for more than 20 years.
Upon retirement, Mary Ann and Don continued working together remodeling homes at their business Pallone Rental and Development. Mary Ann also opened her own business, Baba’s Craft Shop and enjoyed attending shows where she sold her crafts, but mostly she loved being a mother and grandmother.
Her greatest pleasure was her children and grandchildren and the time she spent with her family.
She lived a wonderful, full life and filled her family with love, joy, happiness and beautiful memories.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Moriconi Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Prince of Peace Chapel.
