PUNXSUTAWNEY — Police seized heroin, crack cocaine, cash and more in a search of a South Main Street residence where two men were also taken into custody Thursday morning.
Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police said the Troop C Vice Unit executed a search warrant at the residence at 6:05 a.m. Thursday as the result of an undercover drug investigation.
Taken into custody were Kenneth Edward Ball, 60, Punxsy, and Aaron Albert Meanor, 28, Pittsburgh.
As a result of the search, troopers seized 179 bags of heroin; 264 empty heroin bags; 4.8 grams of crack cocaine; assorted pills; $1,603 in U.S. currency; a digital scale; syringes; and various drug paraphernalia.
District Judge Douglas Chambers arraigned Ball of Meanor on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (felony, two counts each) and possession of a controlled substance (misdemeanor, two counts each).
Meanor was charged with criminal conspiracy and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (felony, one count).
Ball was committed to the Jefferson County jail in lieu of $300,000 straight bail, while Meanor was committed to the jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.
Additional drug-related charges will be filed against Ball and Meanor, police said, as well as against additional known suspects.
