DUBOIS — The Lady Chucks golf squad travelled to DuBois for the second time this week Wednesday, but for a much different appearance this time around, participating in the 18-team DuBois Invitational Tournament at the Silver Course in Treasure Lake.
Punxsy placed right in the middle of the field, which consisted of several much-larger schools, in ninth place.
To put things in perspective, Punxsy placed first among the five AML teams it usually competes against with a team score of 484.
Brockway scored a 512, Brookville scored 515, and DuBois and Ridgway didn't complete the course, so they recorded no score.
Punxsy was led by Marisa Stockdale, who shot a 116 on the difficult course, which had been affected by the recent rainfall and was wetter than usual.
Lauren Giavedoni and Sarah London each shot 121 to tie for Punxsy's second-best score, and Caroline Dunkel rounded out the scoring with a 126.
The Lady Chucks are known for finishing within a few strokes of one another, and had the lowest differential between a low-scorer and high-scorer for any team in the tournament — a sign of the team's consistency.
The tournament's low-medalist was Allison Cooper from Central Dauphin with an impressive 78, and Central Dauphin brought home the team competition, as well, with a combined score of 371.
The Lady Chucks are back in action Monday with a home meet, where they will host Brookville, Brockway, DuBois and Ridgway.
