Blaine E. Dinger, 81, of Fulshear, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, June 12, 2011.
Blaine was born on November 18, 1929 in Jefferson County, Pa. He was the son of Floyd and Grace (Boyer) Dinger. He grew up and attended school in Jefferson County. After high school, he served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict from 1948-1952, having attained the rank of Corporal. After his honorable discharge, he married Edwina Joan Hinderliter on June 23, 1952, in North Freedom, Pa. They made their home in Buffalo, N.Y., until 1957, when they moved to Frostburg, Pa. In 1977, they relocated to Spring, Texas, then in 1992, they made their home in Fulshear. Joan preceded Blaine in death on April 24, 2004, after 51 years of marriage.
Blaine enjoyed ranching and especially treasured the time he was able to spend with his children and grandchildren.
Blaine is survived by two sons, Randall Dinger and Robert Dinger and wife Mary Lou, all of Fulshear, and one daughter, Nancy Callaway and her husband, Edward of Seattle, Wa. He is survived by the following grandchildren: Stephen Dinger, Daniel Dinger, Sarah Dinger, Anna Dinger, Ryan Quiggins, Amanda Lewis, Tarah Dinger, Casey Dinger and Robbie Dinger. He is survived by his brother, Jim Dinger of Punxsutawney, Pa.; and two sisters, Louella Roman of Brookville, Pa., and Betty Lou Martz of Mayport, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Harold Dinger, and his wife Joan Dinger.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at the Fulshear United Methodist Church in Fulshear with the Rev. John Crowe officiating.
