PUNXSUTAWNEY — The last of nine suspects that were arrested last Wednesday and accused of distributing a controlled substance — mainly marijuana — was arrested Saturday in Oliver Township.
Vincent Bernard Myrick, 39, Punxsutawney, was arrested by Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police at 11 a.m. Saturday.
According to police, the Troop C Vice Unit, from a warrant sweep conducted in the Punxsutawney area, were able to arrest Myrick thanks to an anonymous tip it received.
Police said Myrick was arrested at a trailer located along River Road, Oliver Township without incident.
According to police, Myrick was transported to the Jefferson County jail to await arraignment on drug related charges.
A two-year investigation yielded the arrest of nine individuals who, police say, are accused of distributing a controlled substance — mainly marijuana.
Trooper Jamie LeVier, public information officer for Troop C, said the two-year investigation focused on the sale and distribution of marijuana and prescription drugs.
All nine suspects who were arrested (now that Myrick was arrested) — are from around the Punxsutawney area.
Captain Scott Neal, commanding officer of Troop C, said troopers and undercover officers involved in the investigation did not specifically target marijuana trafficking, but acted upon the information they had.
In this case, it happened to deal with marijuana and prescription drugs.
