MARION CENTER — Natasha Tinnette Adams, daughter of Joe and Rhonda Adams of Marion Center, was born in the nick of time.
“At 9:45 a.m. (Saturday), my water broke,” Rhonda said. “And I had her at 9:55 a.m.”
Born Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, Natasha — weighing 6 pounds, 4 ounces, and 18 1/2-inches in length — is the first baby born for 2011 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Actually, Natasha was a week early: Her due date was Jan. 8, Joe said, adding that he and his wife were surprised that Natasha arrived early.
Welcoming Natasha home were her siblings, Colton, age three; Rose, one; and Brandon, who turns six Thursday.
Her maternal grandparents are Debra and Larry Banks, and Dave and Ellen Blystone. Her great-great grandmother is Sarah Blystone. Her paternal grandparents are the late Albert and Edith Adams.
She also has several aunts and uncles, including Tammy Meckley, David Blystone, Tonya Wilshire and Bill Wilshire; three great-uncles, Delbert Blystone, Ricky Blystone and Ed Blystone; and a great-great-uncle, Ralph Blystone.
Because she is the first baby born at PAH in 2011, local business donated several items for Natasha and her family, including a $50 savings bond from Marion Center Bank; a case of diapers from PAH; a $50 savings bond from Community First Bank; two cases of baby food from Jefferson Grocery; two Big Mac Value Meals for Mom and Dad from McDonald’s; a baby house-proofing kit from Playhouse Children’s Center & Preschool; a gift basket from Wal-Mart; Cornerstone Chiropractic; a $25 gift certificate from The Medicine Shoppe; items from Fairlady & Company; a free haircut for Mom from Kimberly’s Cut Above; two cases of baby food from Comet Market; $25 in a Moola Moola account at S&T Bank; items from B’s Books; a $20 gift certificate from Toy Heaven in DuBois; and a one-month free subscription to The Punxsutawney Spirit.
