The Zak Zone

Sports fans, you may have noticed that Thursday's edition of Spirit Sports was lacking the weekly column, The Zak Zone. That's because I was trying to fabricate the best manner to say, "So long," to pages 6&7 as I prepared for a journey toward the rest of the pages in The Spirit.

As of, well, today, as you're reading this, I'm now officially the editor of the paper, and while you'll still be able to read my musings — at times sports related and at other times completely unrelated — on Viewpoints on Page 4 on Mondays, I'm a bit saddened that The Zak Zone is being put to rest.

I'm not good at goodbyes, and fortunately, this is more of a "see you on the other page," but I still wanted to say that I'll miss covering you and your sports, Punxsutawney.

I didn't want to make this a long goodbye, but I did want to thank you all for your loving kindness and support as you have helped groom me from a hometown boy into a hometown sports reporter — and now, a hometown editor.

Thanks again for all you have done, beloved town, and I'll see you on Page 4.
