INDIANA — Punxsy's boys' track and field head coach John Smith expected a tough meet for his 9th and 10th graders last Thursday at Indiana.

Faced with some of the top competition from the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) and District VI, the Chucks had three athletes place second.

The top three competitors in each event medaled, while anyone who finished fourth, fifth or sixth earned a ribbon.Nathan Ward (800-meter run 1,600-meter run), Dylan Lettie (300 hurdles) and Jesse Reichard (long jump and triple jump) were the Chucks' top finishers.

"Punxsy boys had some stiff competition from the 10 schools competing in the invitational, especially from Altoona, Baldwin and Norwin," Smith said. "But we came away with some good times and distances to take some medals and ribbons."
