Winfield Scott Harriger, 87

Winfield Scott Harriger, 87, Reynoldsville, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.

He was born April 14, 1924, in Winslow Township, a son of the late Scott and Edna (Milliron) Harriger.

July 16, 1954, he married Sarah Annabelle Pifer Harriger, who preceded him in death Dec. 30, 2001.

Mr. Harriger was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reynoldsville.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served as a corporal in the U.S. Army.

He was also a member of the John M. Read Lodge F&AM Lodge No. 536, Coudersport Consistory, F.O. Eagles No. 540 and American Legion Post No. 392.

He was an ironworker, retired from the Ironworkers Union of Western PA out of Pittsburgh.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Patricia J. Pangonis and husband Charles of Indiana; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Archie, Walter and George Harriger; and three sisters, Velma Warnick, Edith Whitaker and Martha Dunn.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home, Reynoldsville.

Interment will be at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
