William L. Morrison Jr., 90

William L. Morrison Jr., 90, Brookville, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, of congestive heart failure under hospice care at McKinley Health Center, Brookville.

He was born May 17, 1921, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late William L. and Emma (Shields) Morrison Sr.

June 8, 1946, in Brookville, he married Gladys Chittester, who survives.

Mr. Morrison was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served in World War II with the WWII 346th Bomb Group in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.

He was the former owner/operator of Morrison Memorials of Brookville, and a member of the Brookville Presbyterian Church; Hobah Lodge No. 276 F&AM; and 32nd degree Mason of the Coudersport Consistory.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include a son, William A. Morrison of Brookville; a daughter, Susan Bane of Columbia, Md.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Morrison; a sister, LuDell Barnes; and an infant son.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.

A Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. David Caves Jr. and the Rev. Mick Chittester officiating.

Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery (Windy Hill), Rose Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church, White and Main streets, Brookville, Pa. 15825; or to the Hobah Lodge No. 276 F&AM, 105 Evans St., Brookville, Pa. 15825.
