William J. “Farmer Bill” Aul, 82

William J. “Farmer Bill” Aul, 82, Juneau, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at his home.

Mr. Aul was born Jan. 11, 1928, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Andrew Aul and Dorothy (Quallich) Aul.

June 14, 1960, he married Joan (Mueck) Aul, who survives, of Juneau.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Aul was a Chaplin for the Rossiter American Legion Post No. 582 and enjoyed gardening.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include four nephews, Paul Saunders, Tom Saunders, Mark Saunders and John Vaughn; two nieces, Mary June Woods and Kathy Saunders; two cousins, Pat Smith and Jim Walsh; and many loving friends and a special family friend who was like a son, Paul Hanley and wife Leslie of Punxsutawney.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, where a veterans’ service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, with military rites accorded by the Rossiter American Legion Post No. 582.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at noon Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at the St. Paul Monastery in Pittsburgh with Fr. Donald Ware officiating.

Interment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh.
