William I. "Bill" Reitz Sr., 75

William I. "Bill" Reitz Sr., 75, Brookville, died Saturday, June 18, 2011, at his home.

He was born July 7, 1935, in Ringgold, a son of the late Ervin Joyle and Ruth (Buck Pierce) Reitz.

He was married to Sandra L. Depp, who preceded him in death Oct. 21, 1995.

Mr. Reitz was the former owner/operator of Emery's Tin Ship in Brookville.

He was a U.S. Army sergeant in the mortar platoon serving during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Reitz enjoyed family with all of his heart. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing baseball, soccer and wrestling. He was an antique car enthusiast.

Mr. Reitz was a member of the Hobah Lodge No. 276 in Brookville, the New Bethlehem Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the New Bethlehem VFW, and he was a 32nd Degree Mason at the Coudersport Consistory.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Roland G. Reitz and wife Anna and William I. Reitz Jr., both of Brookville; two daughters, Brenda Powell and husband Charles of Brookville and Sharyn L. Gorby and husband William of Shannondale; a niece, Ruth M. Poole of Brookville; four brothers, Patrick Reitz, John Reitz, Samuel Reitz and Jerry Pierce, all of Punxsutawney; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.

Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery (Windy Hill), Rose Township.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
