William E. "Bill" Smochek, 59

William E. "Bill" Smochek, 59, Mahaffey, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born April 11, 1952, in Punxsutawney, a son of William P. Smochek of DuBois, who survives, and the late Jane (McGregor) Smochek.

Nov. 20, 1971, he married Darlene (Painter) Smochek, who survives, of Mahaffey.

Mr. Smochek was the co-owner of BD&D Specialty Fabrication & Machine and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Church.

He loved playing and listening to bluegrass music, golfing and his work.
Most of all, he enjoyed time with his family and especially his four grandchildren.

In addition to his father, step-mother Lois and his wife, surviving relatives include two daughters, Christina Marie Cramer of Mahaffey and Billie Jo Hilterman of Curwensville; a sister, Sandra Lee Roseman and husband Gary of Mahaffey; a step-brother, William G. Bell and wife Chris of Mahaffey; four grandchildren, Michael Aaron Cramer, Alexander James Cramer, Jayden Marie Hilterman and Kylee Danielle Hilterman; and several nieces.

 Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the Waldron Funeral Home, Mahaffey.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2011, at Mt. Carmel Church in Clover Run with the Rev. Roger McGary officiating.
Interment is private.
