William C. Firment, 81, Altoona, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 19, 2011.
He was born January 22, 1930, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Michael and Veronica (Lellock) Firment.
July 25, 1994, he married Dorothy A. "Dottie" Iorio, who survives, of Altoona.
Mr. Firment attended Punxsutawney Area High School.
He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Church, Altoona, and the Bavarian Aid Society.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean conflict.
In 1992, he retired as a branch manager of Lance Cracker Co., where he worked for 32 years.
In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include two daughters, Brenda Joy and husband Tony of Parma, Ohio, and Marcia Kiefer and husband Scott of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; a son, Devin Firment of Berlin, MD; a step-daughter, Deborah Bowers and husband Dwight of Altoona; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Dorthy Heberling of Monaca, George Firment and Andy Firment, both of Punxsutawney, Edward Firment of Erie and Colleen Buck of Baden.
He is also survived by his loving cats, Paisleigh and Tabby.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at the Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 4th Ave., Duncansville.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at the Mt. Carmel Church, Altoona.
Interment with military honors, assisted by the Blair County Honor Guard, will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Assumption Chapel.
