William C. "Bill" Kerr, 87, Brookville, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at his residence.
He was born March 14, 1925, in Corsica, a son of the late George Patrick and Stella G. (Clinger) Kerr.
He was married to his wife, Alice K. Clark Kerr, who survives, for 60 years.
Mr. Kerr was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II in central Europe with the 402nd Field Artillery Battalion.
He was self-employed as a barber for 56 years.
Mr. Kerr was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Brookville and was active in the church choir. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1955 and served as treasurer for 44 years.
His interests included golfing, hunting, listening to music, singing and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include five sons, W. Mark Kerr, Mario C. Kerr and wife Joyce, Brian D. Kerr and wife Genn, Boyd C. Kerr and wife Marlene, and Blane K. Kerr; a daughter, Molly K. Northey and husband Rob; a brother, L. Emery Kerr and wife Margaret of Pittsburgh; 13 grandchildren; and two great-granchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Lester; eight brothers; and three sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. William Laska officiating.
Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Brookville.
Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.
