Wilda M. Prushnok Pfeil, 83

Wilda M. (Raymer) Prushnok Pfeil, 83, Indiana, died Sunday, March 13, 2011, at the Indiana Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

A daughter of the late Frank and Hazel Raymer, she was born Jan. 30, 1928, in Emeigh.

She was first married to her husband of 41 years, Raymond John Prushnok, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Prushnok Pfeil was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a dedicated Christian and servant of the Lord. She had many friends and enjoyed corresponding with them frequently.
She was married to Robert Pfeil of Indiana, who survives.

An accomplished world traveler, she also loved flower gardening and arrangement; amateur oil painting; decorating; piano; classical music and hymns.

Most important to her was sharing the company of her friends and family. She had touched numerous lives through her acts of Christian kindness and her philanthropic deeds.

In 1958, Mrs. Prushnok Pfeil and her family moved to Los Angeles, where she completed her education and joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
In 1968, she and her family returned to Pennsylvania.

Since 1974, she maintained various winter homes in Florida.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Kathy M. Burba and husband Chet of Indiana, and Christina R. Kelly of Indiana; three sons, John P. Prushnok and wife Patricia of Punxsutawney, G. Daniel Prushnok and wife Kimberly of Indiana, and David M. Prushnok of Indiana; two stepdaughters, Connie O’Brien and husband Dennis of Punxsutawney, and Dawn Keiper of Celebration, Fla.; her grandchildren, Lisa M. Iseman, Kara K. Romance and husband David, Jonathan M. Burba, Ryan D. Burba, Melia R. Prushnok, Raymond J. Prushnok and wife Amy, David Michael Prushnok, Richard A. Bianco and wife Jennifer, Ivan A. Prushnok, Ava D. Prushnok, Kayla Bash, Melissia Smith and husband Jeremy, Bethany R. Prushnok, David J. Prushnok, Sean O’Brien, M.D. and wife Lynn, and Erin Smochek and husband P.J.; great-grandchildren, Lauren K. and Alexander D. Iseman, Anna K., Callan D., and Joel D. Romance, Alyssa A. and Gabriel C. Bianco, Laken Riley Smith, Merritt and Porter O’Brien, and Casaday and Delaney Smochek, all of whom will greatly miss their “Gigi.”

She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her first husband, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Oren Raymer, Marie Cain and Rhoda Bowser.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale.

A funeral service will be celebrated at 11a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Indiana.

Interment will follow at the Rowley Cemetery in Hillsdale.
