Weather Discovery Center presents to Punxsy School Board

October 23, 2013

JIM CASSIDY

PUNXSUTAWNEY — With the changes in the weather of late, it is only fitting that the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center gave a presentation about its program at the Punxsutawney Area School Board meeting on Wednesday.

Jim Cassidy, chairman of the board for the Weather Discovery Center, thanked the school board for the opportunity to talk to their board from his.

“We really felt it was important to do so after your August (school board) meeting, as there were some public remarks made, following the approval of the third-grade field trip that made it obvious to us that we need to communicate better with the school district and the board,” Cassidy said, adding that he wanted to present a factual account as to who the center is because they want to be transparent.
