January 31, 2013

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center and the local chapter of the Elks would like to invite the residents of Punxsutawney and all visiting for the holiday weekend to come celebrate the countdown to Groundhog Day with the Shadow Summit.

An illuminated plexiglass groundhog cut out will be extended high into the sky to mark the beginning of the celebration of Groundhog Day on Groundhog Eve.

The event will take place between the Weather Discovery Center and the Punxsutawney Elks building.

This great event is sponsored by the Groundhog Club, the Weather Discovery Center and the Punxsutawney Elks.

The countdown will begin exactly 1 minute before midnight.

All are invited to come celebrate Groundhog Day with great, artistic spectacle.

The ideal viewing spots will be located on the sidewalks surrounding the area.

Make sure you come early to get your picture taken and to find a great viewing spot!
