PUNXSUTAWNEY — Thanks to the assistance of the community, the Punxsutawney Area Community Center (PACC) has reached its goal of $70,000 to purchase a new digital projector for the Jackson Theater.

Teresa Neal, the Punxsutawney Community Center Board’s theater chair, said the center had set its goal at $70,000, with a hope that it could raise it by June, when 35mm films will no longer be produced.

“We were very happy that we reached our goal so fast, and I think that’s due to the hard work of our committee and our Executive Director Rob McCoy,” Neal said. “It was great to see a variety of the community come together to raise money because they didn’t want our theater to go away. It was really amazing.”
