Walter M. "John"  Bouch, 94, Mahaffey, passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

Mr. Bouch was born Jan. 3, 1917, in Sydney, a son of the late Miles O. Bouch and Elizabeth A. (Snyder) Bouch.

He was married to B. Margaret (Clark) Bouch, who preceded him in death May 17, 2009. They were married 67 years.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WWII.

Mr. Bouch loved hunting, fishing and practical jokes.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Ronald Bouch and wife Linda, Miles Bouch and wife Beverly, and Thomas Bouch and wife Denise, all of Mahaffey; and a daughter; Barbara Westover and husband Chuck of Westover; a brother, Roy Bouch of Rossiter; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Lynn Bouch; four brothers; Earl, Merle, Leslie and Donald Bouch; and three sisters, Edith Neal, Edna Bartlebaugh and Esther Pearce.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Turner officiating.

Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
