Walter Krawzyk, 80

Walter Krawzyk, 80, Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at his home.

He was born May 21, 1930, in Delancey, a son of the late Peter Krawczyk and Angela (Wozny) Krawczyk.

June 10, 1956, he married Norma M. (Swanson) Krawzyk, who survives, of Punxsutawney.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Punxsutawney VFW and Silver Sneakers.

Mr. Krawzyk loved gardening, camping and fishing.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include two sons, Gary W. Krawzyk and wife DeDe of Reynoldsville, and Jeffrey S. Krawzyk of Waynesboro, Ga.; and a grandson, Nathan D. Krawzyk and fiancee Emily Mazzie, both of DuBois.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother and sister.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, where a veterans’ service will be accorded at 3 p.m. by the Punxsutawney VFW.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Bockus officiating.

Interment will follow at Olive Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Krawzyk’s name to the DRMC Hospice.
