Vincent P. Hill, 69, Kiski Township, died Saturday, July 16, 2011, at home.

He was born Nov. 22, 1941, in Kittanning, a son of the late Ernest and Henrietta (Kriser) Hill.

Mr. Hill lived in Kiski Township for the past 30 years.

He married Darcia Lynn (Hyrtanski) Hill, who preceded him in death March 18, 2003.

Mr. Hill was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1958 through 1964 as an equipment mechanic.

For most of his life, Mr. Hill was a heavy equipment operator for various companies in the Kiski Valley.

He enjoyed shooting pool at the former Chambers Hotel in Apollo, going to camp at the river and spending time with his granddaughter.

Surviving relatives include three daughters, Christina M. Neigh of Vandergrift, Tammy L.Kundla and husband Patrick of Plum Boro and Tracey L. Hill of York; two sons, Charles V. Hill and wife Iris of Chicago and Joseph P. Hill of Kiski Township; a granddaughter, Brooke A. Kundla of Plum Boro; two brothers, Ernest Hill and wife Priscilla of Sagamore and Roger Hill and wife Ranie of Mercer; and five sisters, Judy Cribbs and husband Dave of Creekside, Linda Moretti and husband Denny of Indiana, Susan Mauk and husband Russ of Punxsutawney, Karen Reasor and husband Harold of Mercer and Patty Kirkpatrick and husband Denny of Rural Valley.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret “Peggy” Smyers; and a brother, Robert Hill.

Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo.

A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Samuel Scheiderer officiating.

Interment will be private.
