Vincent L. Haney, 96

Vincent L. Haney, 96, of Punxsutawney, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at DuBois Nursing Home.

Mr. Haney was born Jan. 26, 1916, in Cloe, a son of the late William A. Haney and Minnie Mae (Yost) Haney.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Mae (Vadasy) Haney, on Jan. 10, 2012.

He attended the Cloe United Methodist Church.

Mr. Haney was a carpenter by trade for many years and also worked for the B&O Railroad.

He was very creative at remodeling homes and was the founder of Haney Builders.

He enjoyed gardening and growing wildflowers. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting and the Pittsburgh Penguins, especially Sidney Crosby.

Surviving relatives include four sons, Jeffrey L. Haney and wife Diane of Youngstown, Ohio, William A. Haney of Houston, Texas, Vincent K. "Keith" Haney of Punxsutawney and Brian K. Haney and wife Linda of Indiana; two daughters, Sandra E. Farcus of Rossiter and Beverly A. Davis of Punxsutawney; seven grandchildren, Gerald Farcus, Gary Farcus, Karen Farcus, Kevin Haney, Sherri Haney, Melissa Trabert, Andrew Haney and Lindsay Haney; seven great-grandchildren, Davin Carulli, Lilly Farcus, Brady Flowers, Haleigh Trabert, Sarima Wai-Ogouso, Tara Farcus and Mandy Farcus; a sister, Merna Evans of Sandy, Utah; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Ethel, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Haney; two brothers, Maurice F. Haney and Willard Haney; and two sisters, Thelma Elling and Inez Wilson.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Thompson officiating.

Memorial contribution's may be made in Mr. Haney,s name to the National Kidney Foundation at 30 E. 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
