PUNXSUTAWNEY — This week, Punxsutawney Area Hospital received 750 doses of the H1N1 vaccine.
According to Mary Dinger, the hospital's employee health nurse, many of those vaccines have been given to hospital employees, physicians and Jefferson County EMS personnel.

The state Department of Health has listed people in the following categories as high-risk and prime candidates for the H1N1 vaccine:

• Pregnant women.

• People six months to 24 years old.

• Health care providers and EMS personnel.

• Parents, household members or caregivers of children under six months.

• Those under 65 with certain underlying medical conditions.
