PUNXSUTAWNEY — The operator of a motorcycle escaped injury when he was struck by an SUV at about 4 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of North Jefferson Street and East Union Street.
According to Punxsutawney Borough Police, a motorcycle operated by Robert Tyger of Marion Center was traveling north on North Jefferson Street when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of North Jefferson and East Union Street and traveled into the path of a Dodge Durango driven by Paul O'Hara III, of St. Marys, causing a collision.
Police said a passenger in the Durango was transported to Punxsy Area Hospital by Jefferson County EMS with unknown injuries.
According to police, neither Tyger or O'hara were injured and were able to drive their vehicles from the scene.
Police were assisted by members of the Punxsutawney Fire Department.
