Vera L. Smith, 82

Vera L. Smith, 82, Indiana, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

She was born June 7, 1928, a daughter of the late Homer C. and Vera States Smith.

Ms. Smith was a 1946 graduate of Homer City High School and a 1952 graduate of Nyack Training Institute, (now Nyack College) of Nyack, N. Y.

She worked in New York City from 1952 to 1960, was a member of the Indiana Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and retired from Indiana Hospital.

Surviving relatives include a sister, Ethel White and husband Donald E.; two brothers, William A. and wife Rosella of Indiana, Duane C. and wife Dolly of Homer City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph L. and Harry Earl Smith; three nephews, Dwayne Smith, Douglas E. Smith and Douglas Smith; and a niece, Darla Leann Smith.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Robinson-Lytle Inc. Funeral Home, Indiana, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at the Indiana Alliance Church with Rev. William Murphy officiating.

Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
