Velma Jean Sarvey, 74

Velma Jean Sarvey, 74, Brookville, formerly of Summerville, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Brookville Hospital.

She was born Aug. 21, 1937, in Summerville, a daughter of the late Berge Olan and Edith Ellan (Hughes) Ishman.

She was married to Richard C. Sarvey, who preceded her in death Jan. 19, 1983.

Mrs. Sarvey worked as a waitress for Truckstops of America in Brookville for more than 22 years.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Rick Sarvey of Clarion, and Randy Sarvey and wife Gigi of Knox Dale; two daughters, Lisa White and husband Tim of Summerville, and Roxanne McEhatten of Clarion; two sisters, Bernice Whiteman of Summerville, and Betty Wright of Brookville; seven grandchildren, Jen, Ryan, Cathy, Sammy, Bobbi, Greta and Gretchen; and three great-grandchildren, Evan, Alyssa and Gavin.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Ishman.

Private services were held by the family.

Arrangements were under the direction of the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.
