Vance Hankinson, 51

Vance Hankinson, 51, formerly of Punxsutawney, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, surrounded by his loving family at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Mr. Hankinson was born Oct. 30, 1959, in Jamestown, N.Y., a son of Dorothy (Cameron) Painter, of Rossiter, who survives.

He was married to Carol (Byerly) Hankinson, who survives, of Punxsutawney.

Mr. Hankinson was a devoted family man who adored his sons and granddaughter. He touched the lives of many people and will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and mother, surviving relatives include two sons, Nathaniel Hankinson of Elk Run, and Stephen Currens and wife Kayla of Anita; a brother, James Hankinson and wife Lesa of Rossiter; three sisters, Pam Hankinson of Rossiter, Phyllis Byerly and husband Frank of Punxsutawney, and Sue Berringer and husband Burr of Rossiter; a granddaughter, Harper Currens; nieces and nephews, Nicholas Hankinson and wife Tara of Pittsburgh, Michael Hankinson and fiancee Raeann of Denver, Colo., and Shannon Byerly of Punxsutawney; a great- niece, Bella Hankinson; and a great-nephew, Alex Hankinson.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

Interment will follow at Pearce Cemetery.
