Ursula Concetta (Mondi) Albino, 76, Walston, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born July 7, 1935, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Adams) Mondi.

In 1969, she married Joseph “Muz” Albino, who survives.

Mrs. Albino was a special education teacher in the Punxsutawney Area School District for 35 years.

She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned her master’s degree from Penn State University.

Mrs. Albino was active in her church, St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Walston. She was also active in the Groundhog Festival Committee, several church organizations and many other organizations. She loved to volunteer time and talent to help others.

Her hobbies included knitting, reading and helping others.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include a daughter, Sandy Scialabba and husband Bernie of York; two brothers, Frank Mondi of Punxsutawney and Thomas Mondi of Apollo; a sister, Connie Ross and husband Don of Punxsutawney; five grandchildren, Nicole Lovich and husband Justin of Tallahassee, Fla., Michele Scialabba of Pittsburgh, Lynae Scialabba and fiance Nate Shepp of Mars, and Karrie Scialabba and Valerie Scialabba of York; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

The Altar Rosary Society will assemble at 5:30 p.m. today at the funeral home to recite the Hail Marys.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, Walston, with the Rev. Msgr. Joseph J. Riccardo officiating.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
