UPDATE: No injuries in Friday morning Indiana Co. blaze

Three occupants safely escaped a Friday morning fire that destroyed the home of Dr. Kitty Scott on Kachmar Road, just off of Route 210 in Indiana County.

The initial call came through Jefferson County dispatch at approximately 7:45 a.m., and initial responders reported that smoke and flames were showing from approximately a mile away.

Perry Township Fire Chief Kris Grove reported that there was no indication of a cause as of Friday evening.

Grove said that in addition to Perry Township’s Volunteer Fire Company, stations that assisted at the scene and by standing by included, but were not necessarily limited to: Lindsey, Marion Center, Knox Township, Plumville, Oliver Township, Ringgold, Rossiter, Big Run, McCalmont Township and Central.
