TRAVEL ADVISORY: Route 119 at Hampton/Ridge/Clark to close Oct. 26 - 29.

PUNXSUTAWNEY — State Route (SR) 119 at Hampton Avenue/Ridge Avenue/Clark Street will close in Punxsutawney to replace the railroad crossing.

The intersection will close on Friday, Oct. 26, at 6 pm, and is expected to reopen at noon on Monday, Oct. 29.

The railroad crossing replacement is part of the Elk Run Bridge Replacement and SR 119/310 intersection widening project in Jefferson County.

This $3,351,119 bridge replacement and roadway construction project is being completed by Francis J. Palo, Inc., of Clarion.

The project includes the replacement of the bridge carrying SR 119 over Elk Run in Punxsutawney Borough and the construction of left turn lanes on the SR 119 South and SR 310 intersection.

The project is expected to be completed in September 2013.
