This coming Saturday, the 15th annual Groundhog Fall 50K is coming to town. Big Run’s VFW Post 9044 is hosting the race for the third straight year, and post members have completed 96 man hours of work preparing the trails. Pictured here are Tom Johnston, Bob Lott, Jesse Miller, Duane Miller and Randy Kromer, some of the workers near a new obstacle on the course — a six-foot-deep ditch carved by the flooding in June, which will cause extra challenges to the runners this year. The pipe the water used to flow through can even be seen.

When it comes to children riding in cars, safety always comes first.
