Traffic Update: Bridge open in Helvetia

August 23, 2013

HELVETIA — PennDOT has announced that a bridge on Route 2003 (Mine Road) near Helvetia in Clearfield County has opened.

The bridge was closed July 26 to allow for crews to replace the structure with a new box culvert.

The bridge, which spans Stump Creek on Route 4003, near the village of Stanley in Brady Township, carries an average of nearly 200 vehicles each day.

Also, motorists traveling along Route 219 (First Street) in Grampian Borough, Clearfield County, are reminded to obey the posted speed limit of 35 mph.

PennDOT placed a radar-controlled speed display sign in the area recently at the request of the municipality in an effort to curb aggressive driving.
