Rain was the story — as it has been since the middle of last week — early Monday, but Monday evening told a different story, as the rain clouds were chased away by a strong afternoon wind, and the entertainment went on without hesitation at the Groundhog Festival. Groundhog Festival schedule for Tuesday, July 2

• 9:30 a.m. — Registration for the Teddy Bear Picnic (to be held inside on the second floor of the Eagles, across from Barclay Square).
Categories include Get Well Bear; Graduation Bear; Occupational Bear; All-American Bear; and My Bear and I (dressed alike);

• 10 a.m. — Teddy Bear Picnic begins (sponsored by Punxsutawney Career
Women's Club);

• 10 a.m. to noon — Children's activities (ages 6 to 12) at the Lattimer
House.

This year's focus is military/community (sponsored by the Punxsutawney Area Historical & Genealogical Society);

• 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Face Painting (Make-A-Wish);

• 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Children Activities / Information (Jefferson County Head Start);

• 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. — Dennie Huber — Balloons;

• 11:30 a.m. to noon — Rock & Roll Pet Show;

• 12:30 to 1 p.m. — Dennie Huber — Magic;

• 1:30 to 2 p.m. — Rock & Roll Pet Show;

• 2:30 to 3 p.m. — Dennie Huber Magic;

• 3:30 to 4 p.m. — Rock & Roll Pet Show;

• 6 p.m. — Bingo at Central Volunteer Fire Department;

• 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. — AM Radio (70s, 80s & 90s Music);

• 9 to 10 p.m. — AM Radio (70s, 80s & 90s Music, second show).
