In this photo, Punxsy nine-year old Allie Meko proudly displays her first buck, which she shot with a crossbow Oct. 5 while hunting with her father on the Shenosky farm in Gaskill Township Allie's deer, the first submitted to The Spirit for this year's season, along with the increased deer traffic at night, is a reminder to local residents that deer season is in full swing. Archery season kicked off Oct. 1 across the state; muzzleloader season started Oct. 15; and traditional rifle season is slated to begin Nov. 28, the Monday after Thanksgiving. (Photo submitted)
