Monday, these youngsters — (clockwise from left) Elizabeth Smith, Kaitlyn Lowmaster, Anna Newman, John Mizerock, Gabriell Peles, Rachel Houser and Hannah Fetterman — were helping staff members from the Playhouse Children's Center sort plastic ducks for the upcoming Duck Derby, set for 11 a.m. Sunday, July 8, at the George C. Brown Community Pool.

The duck that crosses the threshold first will score the $500 prize for the owner, while other prizes will also be offered. Tickets for the Duck Derby, which benefits SPLASH, will be available from the center this week during Old Home Week and next week during the Groundhog Festival.

Also, beginning Wednesday, Playhouse will host "Sundaes for SPLASH," from 6 to 8 p.m., where you can make your own sundae for a donation and enjoy the center's indoor and outdoor playgrounds.
