Thomas Frederick Redding, 77

Thomas Frederick Redding, 77, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 18, 1936, a son of the late Clark F. "Gags" and Clara V. (Hoover) Redding.

Mr. Redding served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict.

On Feb. 7, 1959, he married the former Judith B. Spencer, who survives.

He had previously worked as a jet mechanic in New York and was a retired member of the Carpenters Union and B&O Railroad.

His enjoyments were his family, golfing, hunting and working in his garden.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, T. Randall Redding of Punxsutawney, Brian

Redding and wife Mary Ann of Walston, Denise L. Geist and husband Rick of Punxsutawney, and Jill E. Carey and husband Bill of Punxsutawney; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. A private service will be observed at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
