THEY SHRUNK PUNXSY!

February 15, 2012

Using shoeboxes and other craft items, students from Cheri Barenchik’s second-grade class at Parkview Elementary School created a mini-replica of downtown Punxsutawney. The replica was part of a social studies unit titled “Needs and Wants,” designed to teach students how to use a map and get around town. Pictured are (from left) Miranda Beane, Tyler Cain, Brooklyn Dobson, Hannah Fetterman, Darren Fryer, Lucille Hawk, Rachel Houser, Ruth Kolash, Isabella Lester, Dakota Long, Abigail May, Alexander Phillips, Justin Phillips, Jacob Powers, Nathan Thom, Ryan Travis, Tony Waterfall, Jace Whitfield and Gwendolyn Yates.
