She was the matriarch of the Gagliardi family and took much pride in family and traditions and always placed her family first.

She loved to cook for her family and friends and enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren the traditional recipes that were passed along to her.

Mrs. Astorino and her husband built a home overflowing with warmth and love, and many friends and family will remember gathering there for sing-a-longs, games, wonderful meals and laughter.

While she was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, she enjoyed watching her sons and grandchildren participate in sporting events and could also be seen watching softball and baseball games at Walston Park from her porch.

Along with being a member, she was also a member of St. Anthony's choir for more than 40 years. She was the treasurer of the St. Anthony's Altar and Rosary Society. From rolling meatballs to nut roll, she was an active supporter of St. Anthony's annual festival.

She is survived by four sons, Guy Anthony and wife Kim of Elizabethtown, Gary and wife Terri of Edinboro, Greg of Horsham, and Gene Michael and wife Dawn of Raleigh, N.C.; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Polaski; seven brothers, an infant, James, Fred, Steve, Lawrence, Anthony and Dominic (Mickey) Gagliardi.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Deeley Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
